Navigating the Topic Tree

The Topic Tree shows how topics are organized into "branches" or topic categories you can show or hide. Clicking on a topic title expands or collapses the topics visible in the Topic Tree.

        precedes a topic with more subtopics to view.
precedes a topic with all its subtopics in view.
precedes the "lowest" subtopic in a topic category.

Browsing for Articles

  1. Click the Find Answers tab.
  2. Navigate the topic tree and click on the topic that contains articles you want to browse through.
  3. The topic is bolded and its articles display in the Answers panel.
  4. Click on the subject heading of an article to view the article.

Searching for Articles

  1. Click the Find Answers tab.
  2. Navigate the topic tree and click on the topic that contains articles you want to search through.
  3. Enter the key word or words you are searching for in the Search box. Put a comma between multiple keywords.
  4. Press Search.  All the articles in the topic you chose (and any of its subtopics) are searched. Matches are listed in the Answers list. If no matches are made, the phrase No articles found displays.

Registering

  1. Click on the Register Here link in the Log In panel.
  2. Fill out the required fields in the Registration Info panel.
  3. Press Register to create your account.
  4. Press Continue to find answers or ask questions.
  5. Click on the View My Account tab to update your profile.

Logging In

Users must log in to change profile information, view, change, or delete subscriptions, and to ask questions.
  1. In the Log In panel, enter your e-mail address and password.
  2. Press Log In.  The View My Account tab displays.

Logging Out

Click Log Out in the top right corner of any iService Assistant page.

Submitting Questions

  1. Register or Log In.
  2. Click on the Ask a Question tab.
  3. Navigate the topic tree and click on the topic to which your question relates. The Ask a Question panel displays its entry fields.
  4. Enter the subject for your question at Subject.
  5. Enter your question at Question and press Submit Question.

Viewing Your Questions

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Questions link. The My Questions panel displays the questions you have submitted.
  4. Click on the subject heading of a question to view the question.

Updating Your Questions

You can update questions only before they're answered.

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Questions link. The My Questions panel displays the questions you have submitted.
  4. Click on the subject heading of a question to view the question.
  5. Enter your changes at Updated Question. 
  6. Press Update My Question.

Deleting Your Questions

You can delete your questions only before they're answered.

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Questions link. The My Questions panel displays the questions you have submitted.
  4. Click on the subject heading of a question to view the question.
  5. Press Delete Question.

Subscribing to Articles

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Browse or Search for the article to which you want to subscribe.
  3. Click on the subject heading of the article to view the article.
  4. Press Subscribe.  You will be e-mailed whenever the article is updated.

Viewing Your Subscriptions

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Subscriptions link. The My Subscriptions panel displays the articles to which you are subscribed.
  4. Click on the subject heading of an article to view the article.

Unsubscribing from Articles

  1. Log In, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Subscriptions link. The My Subscriptions panel displays the articles to which you are subscribed.
  4. Click on the subject heading of an article to view the article.
  5. Press Unsubscribe.  You will no longer be e-mailed if the article is updated.

Editing Your Profile

  1. Log in, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Profile link. The Update Profile panel displays.
  4. Change your name, address, and contact information as needed.
  5. Press Update Profile.

Changing Your Password

  1. Log in, if necessary.
  2. Click the View My Account tab.
  3. Click on the Password link. The Change Password panel displays.
  4. Enter your old password, your new password, and confirm your new password.
  5. Press Change Password.

Glossary

article: An answered question. Articles can be assigned for private or public viewing. 

iService® : A suite of web-based applications, created by One-to-One Service.com, focused on increasing the quality and efficiency of providing customer service.

iService® Assistant : An application that allows customers to ask questions or find answers over the web with the aid of a self-populating knowledge base created from questions that other customers have submitted.

iService® Contact : An application that allows customer service agents to respond to real-time telephone calls and online chats along with voicemails and e-mails through one convenient interface.

public: An article designation that allows it to be searched and viewed by any iService® user.

private: An article designation that allows it to be searched and viewed only by iService® administrators.

register: To provide your name and e-mail address to iService® creating you an account which allows you to ask questions and  subscribe to articles.

subscribe: To assign your registered name and e-mail address to an article so that you are e-mailed whenever the article is updated. 

topic: A category to which published articles and/or other topics are related.

topic tree: A graphical representation of how topics in the knowledge management system are arranged into categories, or "branches". The Topic Tree requires one primary, topmost topic. Any number and hierarchy of topics can be added beneath any topic.
